Survey reveals possible Guitar Hero: World Tour details

You have to love marketing surveys. They tend to reveal a good deal of information to the public than some companies might actually want known. While the info isn't always accurate, it does give us an idea of what companies are looking toward for the future. The latest info about Guitar Hero: World Tour comes to us courtesy of an Xbox marketing survey.

If the info on the survey can be belived, we should expect to see the bundle released for $180 on current-gen consoles ($170 for PS2) and $60 for the standalone game ($50 for the PS2). I'm definitely stoaked about the artists that were mentioned. "Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Korn, System of a Down, Ozzy Osbourne, Interpol, Muse ... "and dozens more" I'm most excited about Korn, as we all know that Jonathan Davis has been itching to get into the game.

The last tidbit is probably the most interesting. They make mention of the guitar controller having a touch-sensitive neck slide. My only guess is that they'll be adding neck slides into the game (think of a guitarist sliding their hand down the neck and back up really fast) with a part of the neck (the part which has been unused until now) made touch-sensitive specifically for this. I would hope that this would be optional to use, much the same as the solo buttons on Rock Band for those not wanting to spring for yet another new guitar.

It's really hard to say how much of this is real and what's not. We'll be hearing more soon enough I suspect, and you'll know when I do.
