Super Talent TeraDrive CT3 SATA III SSD debuts with 520MB/s writes

Super Talent has announced a new SSD for storing data that is aimed at the consumer. The new SSD is called the TeraDrive CT3 and it is a SATA III 6Gbps drive. The new SSD is intended to fit in the gap between the Super Talent PT3 and CT2 SSDs and the company expects that the new SSD will be the price for performance leader. The performance of the SSD is very impressive too.

The SSD supports data speeds of up to 550MB/sec read and up to 520MB/s writes. The device uses MLC NAND flash inside and will come in multiple capacities. The CT3 will be available in 64GB, 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB capacities. The NAND flash inside the SSD made with a 25nm process. The new SSD also supports some of the important Windows 7 features.

The CT3 has support for TRIM and Garbage collection to help extend the life of the storage drive and maintain the performance of the drive over time. Super Talent doesn't say much about the price of the SSD at this point. You can watch a video on YouTube below showing the new CT3 SSD being benchmarked.
