Super Smash Bros Ultimate gets another Nintendo Direct this week

At this point, you'd think that we've heard pretty much all there is to know about Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. After all, Nintendo has spent a lot of time talking about the game, from making it the marquee title during its E3 2018 presentation to devoting an entire Nintendo Direct to it back in August. Nintendo, however, is not quite done yet, as it has announced another Direct broadcast dedicated to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct, which premieres later this week, will be the last one dedicated to the game before its release in December. In an announcement this morning, Nintendo said that it will last for approximately 40 minutes, so apparently there's still a lot to talk about.

What should we expect? There will most likely be at least one or two new fighter reveals, but given the length of the presentation, there could even be more. We'll probably hear more about game modes that were intentionally kept a secret back in August, particularly that mysterious mode on Ultimate's home menu that was blurred out during the last Direct. In the end, however, we only have our speculation, and we'll need to just wait and see what Nintendo has in store.

Luckily, the wait won't be a long one, as this Direct is scheduled to go live on November 1 at 7 AM Pacific/10 AM Eastern. Nintendo says that after the broadcast is over, it'll be hosting a Treehouse Live event where it'll be showing off gameplay for Switch titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon Let's Go, Yoshi's Crafted World, and Diablo 3: Eternal Edition.

Nintendo is hosting the Direct in all the usual places, such as its website and through YouTube. As always, we'll have coverage of all the big announcements right here at SlashGear, so be sure to check back here on November 1 to see what's new in the world of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!
