Super Nintendo World confirmed for Universal's Epic Universe in Orlando

We've been hearing about Japan's Super Nintendo World theme park for quite some time now, but now Comcast has revealed that Super Nintendo World will be coming to Universal's next theme park here in the US. We already knew that Super Nintendo World will head to the US at some point in the future, but now we know where Comcast plans to fit it in within Universal's theme parks.

That Super Nintendo World will be a part of Epic Universe was revealed in a Comcast earnings call with investors this morning. Comcast, which is Universal's parent company, didn't give too many details, but they did reiterate that it'll build Super Nintendo Worlds in both Hollywood and Orlando, with the latter being located at Epic Universe.

Unfortunately, that means those of us here in the US are in for quite a wait. While Super Nintendo World is slated to open in Japan this summer, Epic Universe is still a few years off. Comcast has set the expectation of a 2023 opening for Epic Universe in previous investor calls, so we're at least three years away assuming that everything pans out the way Universal is hoping it will.

Of course, with that much time between now and the park's expected opening, there's plenty of opportunity for delays to rear their ugly heads. Another thing that's unclear is if Super Nintendo World will be ready to go once Epic Universal proper opens its doors.

With so many question marks surrounding Super Nintendo World's launch here in the US, it's hard to say when, exactly, those of us here in American will actually get to visit it. We'll wait for Comcast and Universal to reveal more details, but if that wait is too long to bear for you Nintendo die-hards, a vacation to Universal Studios Japan is always a possibility.
