Upgrade Your Apple Experience With These Top Mac Apps
By JORDAN WIRTH
Maccy
Apple continues to lack a default clipboard manager. Luckily, the Maccy app offers users a minimalistic, lightweight, offline, open-source clipboard manager option.
It's a "keyboard-first" app, meaning you can use its functions without a mouse. Maccy is available for $9.99 on the Mac App Store, but you can choose your price via Gumroad.
Swish
While Mac lacks a window management system, apps like Swish allow you to organize your desktop in a way similar to Windows 11's "Snap" function.
Swish is great for trackpad users, allowing you to use gestures to manage your windows. Swish offers a 14-day trial, after which it costs $16 for a two-machine license.
Signal Shifter
While you can access the various audio device management features in several steps on a Mac, the process can be annoying. However, Signal Shifter solves this problem.
The Signal Shifter allows you to change between three different sources from one menu: audio output, audio input, and Bluetooth devices. The app is also completely free.
Bartender
The Bartender app can help users declutter their Macs by hiding unwanted icons in a separate Bartender Bar or the Always Hidden area until needed.
Bartender also allows you to style the menu bar and create icon groups. A single-user license for multiple devices costs $16; upgrading from older versions costs $8.
Raycast
Although the Spotlight feature on Macs can make searching through your computer easier, you can supercharge the built-in search function with the Raycast app.
One example of what Raycast can do is allow you to control your Spotify playlist with just a few keystrokes. Raycast has a free version and subscription options with more features.
