Under The Hood Of The World’s Longest Car, The Colossal Cadillac

Making its way into the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest car in the world, the Cadillac limousine known as the American Dream was the work of Jay Ohrberg.
The renowned car customizer completed the massive limousine in 1986, measuring at an impressive 18.28 meters or 60 feet in length. However, Ohrberg wasn’t finished with the car.
Ohrberg took things to another level when he extended the vehicle to an astounding 30.5 meters or 100 feet, breaking his own record.
While the behemoth limo became quite popular and appeared in several Hollywood movies, it fell out of favor and was abandoned behind a warehouse for years.
The limo fell into disrepair and was missing pieces. Fortunately, Autoseum, a technical teaching museum in Nassau County, New York, would take an interest in the auto anomaly.
Autoseum owner Michael Manning discovered the neglected vehicle in a listing on eBay, and later, with the financial support of Michael Dezer, he was able to restore the limo.
The limo became an attraction at Dezerland Park in their Auto Museum and was later recertified as the world’s longest car on March 1st, 2022, by the Guinness World Records.
The American Dream’s new length is 30.54 meters or 100 feet and 1.50 inches, a measurement that marginally surpassed its original record.
The car is supported by 26 wheels and is equipped with two V8 engines at each end. The American Dream features an array of lavish amenities, such as a putting green.
Unfortunately, the American Dream is too large for regular road use. Not only does the car need care to ensure it runs correctly, but its amenities also need specialized care.
