The Reason Your Android Phone Is Charging Slowly And The Fix For It
By FAISAL RASOOL
You might have noticed a dip in the charging performance of your Android phone, to the point where the issue needs to be addressed; fortunately, you don't necessarily have to take the gadget in for repairs to restore the charging speed. Simply follow this handy guide on identifying possible problems and ways to fix them.
Faulty Equipment
Check to make sure your charging cable and power brick are not badly damaged; if they are, consider replacing them. Next, inspect your charging port for dust, dirt, and lint, as clogged ports often fail to make proper contact with the charging pins, thereby limiting the charge rate.
Wrong Hardware
If you're not using the official charging brick and USB cable that shipped with the device, the third-party hardware you're using in its place might be why your phone is charging slowly. Also, consider different outlets for powering the charger and compare their performance.
Greedy Apps
Investigate if your apps are draining too much battery while running background services, and delete or disable them. Factory resetting is another solution, as it wipes all local data on your device and restores the OS with a fresh setup, but be sure to back up important files first.
