The 8 Best Cheap Camper Vans You Can Buy Right Now
By JOE CAPRARO
Free Bird
One affordable camper van option that allows you to simply hop in and hit the road is the Caravan Outfitters Free Bird, which retails for $47,000.
The Free Bird has a bed that measures 6’6” long and 47” wide. The camper also includes features like a dual propane stove and a ceiling fan in the rear.
Thor Scope 18G
Thor Motor Coach’s Scope 18g sleeps two and seats four inside the 6’3” high passenger area, which includes a bathroom with a shower and a kitchen with a two-burner propane stove.
With a $125,000 price tag, the Scope 18g comes with several energy sources, including a 200-watt solar panel and an Onan 2800 gas generator.
Pleasure Way Tofino
Retailing at $94,250, the Pleasure Way Tofino features a main area with a convertible sofa bed and a pop-top for a second sleeping area.
The Tofino has a one-burner electric stove and refrigerator but no toilet or shower. There are USB outlets throughout the interior and a control panel to monitor battery charging.
Winnebago Solis 36
Winnebago has grown to become a leader in the RV industry, but that hasn’t prevented them from producing an affordable camper van with the Solis 36 at about $120,000.
The Solis includes a pull-down Murphy bed, a kitchen with a 3.0 cubic foot refrigerator, and a bathroom with a removable cassette toilet and shower enclosure.
Thor Twist 2LB
Slightly heavier and more expensive than the Scope 18G at about $131,000, Thor Motor Coach’s Twist 2LB features many of the same features as its slimmer sibling.
However, the Twist has two twin beds that form one king-sized sleeping surface instead of the Scope 18 G’s pull-out sofa bed that converts to a queen.
