The 5 Standout Features of the New 2022 Range Rover
By CHRIS DAVIES
1. Infotainment
The new 2022 Range Rover unveils Land Rover’s Electrical Vehicle Architecture (EVA 2.0), a curved display that’s subtly cantilevered off the dashboard. EVA 2.0 runs Pivi Pro, the automaker’s infotainment platform, with not only Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, and SiriXM but also easy-to-access controls like volume, temperature, and fan speed knobs.
2. Headrests
The new Range Rover’s hushed cabin marks a first for the auto industry: 20-watt headrest speakers in concert with the optional 1,600-watt Meridian Signature Sound System to create individual "quiet zones" for each passenger. The result renders the new vehicle one of the quietest SUVs to drive.
3. All-Wheel Steering
Unlike many of its rivals, Land Rover has made all-wheel steering standard on the new SUV. All-wheel steering can shorten the turning circle to maneuver around a narrow parking lot or improve stability and comfort during lane changes. It’s not a new technology, but it’s still impressive and useful.
4. Signature Suite
If consumers opt to spend roughly $20,000 on the Range Rover Signature Suite upgrade, they’ll feel as if they’re flying first class. The suite boasts two second-row thrones, each with 24-way adjustable settings, soft near-aniline leather, massage, heating, and cooling. Other buttons reveal a pair of cupholders and a Club Table.
5. Beyond Luxury
Land Rover continues to explore what “luxury” means within the cabin, and in addition to the expected options of leather, wood, and metal, the automaker offers engineered textiles and Ultrafabrics. Moneyed consumers can turn to the custom services of Land Rover's SV Bespoke, where the team can whip up unique colors, trims, and more.
