Ranking Some Of The Most Reliable Car Brands On The Market
By NATHAN P. GIBSON
10. Nissan
Nissan produces millions of cars ranging from electric vehicles to family-friendly SUVs. It is a brand known worldwide for its reliability.
Parts are easy to come by and are generally not specialized, so repairs should be cheaper than similar jobs on competitor cars, making them excellent second-hand vehicles.
9. Hyundai
Hyundai is one of the largest automobile manufacturers in the world and has developed a strong reputation for well-built cars that don’t break down often.
Its 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is far higher than most other major brands and should prevent customers from having to pay expensive engine repair costs.
8. Kia
Before being rescued by Hyundai in 1997, Kia was a struggling company. However, since the merger Kia has produced vehicles that could last years without any major problems.
The J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study ranked the Kia Forte as the top compact car, while the Kia Optima and Kia Sportage led the way in the midsize and compact SUV categories.
7. Mazda
Mazda has established a reputation for reliability, innovation, and sporting excellence, which makes its cars’ dependability even more impressive.
This notion is backed up by the fact that Consumer Reports named Mazda as the brand with the highest reliability in 2022, putting it ahead of both Lexus and Toyota.
6. Subaru
Subaru isn’t as respected in terms of reliability as other Japanese companies, but its cars are durable and have had plenty of success in the World Rally Championship.
In particular, the Subaru Impreza has remained one of the most dependable vehicles in the brand's catalog, with the Outback and Forester models scoring highly in surveys.
