Need To Stop A Drone? These Are The Best Ways To Do It
By ROB RICH
5. call Authorities
The least involved way to deal with a rogue drone is to file a complaint with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or for a faster approach, call 911.
Neither option may be ideal if a drone is bothering you right now, but leaving it to the proper authorities avoids potentially going to court.
4. Lasers
You could shine a laser at the drone, but that can be very dangerous — and it is also illegal. If the pilot loses control, the drone could crash and cause damage.
Another risk with using a laser is possibly hitting an aircraft above. That beam could distract the plane's pilot instead, which is also dangerous and illegal.
3. Signal Jammer
Signal jammers like the NovoQuad, which are designed specifically to disrupt drone signals, may be a safer alternative to laser pointers.
There's less risk of catching flying aircraft in the crossfire, but they can prevent communications, like internet connections and even emergency calls, from working properly.
