iPhone Flip: Features We'd Want to See in Apple's Foldable iPhone
In light of Samsung’s botched launch of the original Galaxy Fold, durability remains a question mark for foldable smartphones. Durability is said to be a key concern for Apple with its current foldable prototypes, so expect the Apple iPhone Flip to take things to the next level here.
Apple has a well-earned reputation for its industrial design, and the Apple iPhone Flip should stand out from the competition. Based on foldable concepts circulating on the internet, Apple seems to be experimenting with an iPhone Pro-like camera array combined with a rear secondary display for showing notifications when the device is closed.
According to top analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone Flip could have a screen as large as 8 inches, which would open up the possibilities for greater optimization. Apple has led the way with optimizing its mobile operating systems for smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches, and its OS for foldable should be at the front of the pack, too.
Folding It All Together
Apple may not always be the first to launch products in new categories, but there’s no doubt that it’s studying and watching the foldable segment. Despite much hype, foldable phones haven’t set the market on fire; however, improved technology could lay the foundation for the rumored 2023 or 2024 launch of the iPhone Flip.
