How You Can Make Any Car’s Android Auto Connection Wireless
By ELI BECHT
If your car doesn’t come equipped with Android Auto, you’ll have to plug in your phone to access it. However, you can circumvent this requirement with a wireless dongle.
All you'll have to do is buy a wireless dongle, get it plugged into a USB port in your car, and you're in business. Simple dongles can go for under $100.
One popular option is the Motorola MA1, and that's going to be enough for most people. It's a no-frills dongle that will turn your wired setup into a wireless setup for $80.
A nicher option is to use a dongle from CarlinKit, which doesn’t even require a phone. You just need to plug a SIM card directly into the device.
