How To Unblock Numbers On An Android Phone
By JAM KOTENKO
Getting random phone calls or texts can be annoying for most, but luckily, Android phones have a built-in call and message filter that easily detects potential spammers. While numbers can automatically or manually be blocked, there may be instances when you want to unblock a number, which you can do in several different ways.
To do this in the Phone app for devices with Android 6.0 or later installed:

1. Launch your Phone app and hit the three-dot icon at the top-right corner.

2. Tap “Settings” > “Blocked Numbers.” Find who you want to unblock and tap the “x” icon next to it. Confirm the action by hitting “Unblock.”
To do this in the Contacts app:

1. Go into the Contacts app and find who you want to unblock, then tap their entry.

2. Hit the three-dot icon at the top-right corner and select “Unblock Numbers.” Tap “Unblock” to confirm the action.
An alternative solution in Contacts:

1. From the main page of the Contacts app, hit “Fix & Manage” at the bottom. Under “Other Tools,” tap “Blocked Numbers.”

2. Find the phone number you wish to unblock and hit the “x” icon next to it. Confirm the action by tapping “Unblock.”
You can also unblock numbers through the Messages app by going into the program, hitting the hamburger icon in the top-left corner, selecting “Spam & Blocked,” and then simply tapping on their text thread and pressing “Unblock” in the notification. Doing this will erase any spam reports associated with the phone number and move the text thread back into the main inbox.
For third-party Android apps like WhatsApp or Viber:

1. Launch the app and tap “More Options,” “More,” or the three-dot or hamburger icon, depending on what you’re using.

2. Go to “Settings” > “Privacy” > “Blocked Contacts” or “Block List.” Then tap “Unblock” on the number.
