How To Retrieve Deleted Text Messages On Your iPhone
By GABRIEL MOSS
With the following methods, you can potentially get deleted texts back even if you trashed them weeks ago, as long as you’re willing to restore your iPhone to an older backup. Before beginning, please make sure to disable the "Find My iPhone" feature under "Settings" and "iCloud" and enable it again once the process is complete.
From iCloud
The best method is to simply restore your deleted texts from an older iCloud backup, so navigate to the “Setting” icon on your home screen and click on your iCloud profile in the menu. Tap “iCloud” > “iCloud Backup” > “Back Up Now” and wait for the backup process to finish.
The next phase of the process will require you to restore your iPhone to a previous backup, so go to “Settings” and tap “General” > “Transfer or Reset iPhone” > “Erase All Content and Settings.” Once you’ve restored your phone to a previous backup and secured the deleted texts, restore your phone to its most recent backup by repeating these steps.
From Mac
Connect your iPhone to your computer, select it from the iTunes window, click “Summary,” and find your iPhone in “Locations” in the Finder window. Click “Back Up Now” and restore your iPhone to a recent backup containing your deleted texts by selecting “Restore Backup.”
From Carrier
If you haven't kept recent backups of your iPhone on iCloud or on a computer, you may need to request help from your carrier. There's no guarantee that any given carrier will be able to restore your texts, but it’s still worth a shot if you absolutely need to get your texts back.
