How To Hide Apps On iPhone Without Uninstalling Them
By ROB RICH
It may feel a bit redundant to have to shuffle around icons for functions that are more-or-less baked into the iPhone's interface already. However, if it also feels irritating to have to find a place for apps that you don't ever use but otherwise can't get rid of — you can hide them instead.
To hide apps, open Settings, tap Siri & Search, scroll down, tap the app you want to hide, and toggle Show on Home Screen to the off position — but your app will still be findable in the App Library. To "unhide" a previously hidden app, repeat these steps and toggle Show on Home Screen to the on position instead.
Another way to hide an app is to find it on your iPhone's Home screen or in any folders you have set up, and tap and hold on to the screen until the phone vibrates and each app icon begins to wiggle. When a "-" symbol appears close to the top-left corner of the icon you want to hide, tap it to pull up a new menu, and then tap Remove from Home Screen.
To manually hide an app icon, tap and hold the icon, tap Remove App, and confirm by tapping Remove from Home Screen. To unhide an app, swipe to the right from the Home Screen to pull up your iPhone's App Library, tap and hold on to the hidden app’s icon to pull up a new menu, then tap Add to Home Screen — and the app icon will reappear where it previously was placed.
