How To Disable App Notifications On Your Android Phone
By MARINEL SIGUE
With all the apps that come pre-installed and available for download on your Android device, you’ve likely been flooded with notifications throughout the day. Luckily, there are ways to prevent becoming overwhelmed by the ceaseless barrage of alerts by activating the “Do Not Disturb” mode, which can stop all notifications or customize when and which ones can go through.
To turn on Do Not Disturb mode:

1. Swipe down from the top of your device’s home screen and long-press the Do Not Disturb button to open the settings.

2. From here, you can choose which People, Apps, or Alarms & Other Interruptions can bypass DND. Tap on "Turn On Now" at the top to enable DND.
If you only want to silence certain apps:

1. Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > “See All Apps.”

2. Choose the app to silence. Tap on Notifications. Turn off “All Notifications.”

Alternatively, you can turn off notifications for specific apps once they appear on your notification panel.
For apps that frequently send you notifications:

1. Go to Settings > “Apps & Notifications” > Notifications. Tap on “See All From Last 7 Days,” then tap “Most Recent.”

2. Choose “Most Frequent” from the drop-down menu and toggle off the switch next to the apps you wish to disable notifications for.
There’s an option to still receive app notifications without them showing up on your lock screen, which is helpful when you don’t want to miss any crucial alerts without your phone waking up and disturbing you. Go into Apps & Notifications in Settings, select Notifications, tap on “Notifications On Lock Screen,” and enable “Don’t Show Any Notifications.”
Rather than turning off alerts completely, you can instead choose to snooze the notifications for a set period and then check them later. In Settings, go into Apps & Notifications > Notifications to find the “Advanced” options at the bottom of the menu, where you can then toggle on the switch next to “Allow Notification Snoozing.”
