Hidden Samsung Galaxy Features That Will Make Your Phone Even Better
By ZACH SCHEEPERS
One-Handed Mode
Samsung Galaxy smartphones continue to get larger, often requiring users to hold the phone with one hand while the other swipes the screen. To address the issue, Samsung has introduced a One-Handed Mode that aims to optimize your scrolling experience by shrinking the size of your screen so you can return to one-handed functionality.
Turning it on
1. Open the "Settings" app on a Galaxy S22 and select "Advanced Features."

2. Turn on "One-Handed Mode" and choose "Gesture" or "Button."

3. Swipe inwards from the "Home" button with "Gesture" or quickly tap the "Home" button three times with "Button."
Multi-Window
The Multi-Window or Split Screen feature allows Samsung Galaxy owners to run two apps simultaneously on the same screen, potentially increasing your productivity by allowing you to easily reference information from one app to the other. Multi-Window is also extended to entertainment apps so you can browse the web while watching a video.
Turning it on
1. On a Galaxy S22, go to "Home" screen > select "Recent apps" icon > choose an app.

2. Tap the app icon > select "Open in split screen view” > select the "second app."

3. Adjust app sizes by dragging the dividing line. To close, tap "Recent apps" icon and swipe up on "Split Screen window."
Secure Folder
Using Samsung's defense-grade Knox security platform, Secure Folder is a powerful feature that allows you to create a private space for all your photos, videos, and apps. There are some significant limitations to be aware of, like the Secure Folder being placed in complete isolation, so apps and files outside the folder cannot access each other.
Turning it on
1. On a Galaxy S22, go to “Settings” > "Biometrics and security" > "Secure Folder."

2. Sign into "Samsung account" and tap “Ok” > select protection method and follow instructions.

3. Once ready, add files by selecting the "+" icon on the Secure Folder interface.
