GTA 6 Leak Allegedly Reveals A Major Detail About The Game's Setting
By CHRIS BURNS
Approximately 90 individual videos showing “GTA 6” have leaked on the GTAForums in advance of the title’s release, complete with information on hardware and software source codes running behind the scenes. According to some of the details, the game will take place in the same setting as the 2002 game, the Miami-inspired “Vice City.”
A “Vice City Metro” label can be seen in a brief video at a train station, and though it might be an insignificant detail, the main character’s baseball hat seemingly has the name “Chacoy’s” on it. Other clips show the Vespucci Mall, a government building with “VICE CITY” in giant letters on its side, and an airboat most likely meant for swamps.
The leaked information suggests that the game takes place in the timeline after “GTA 5,” keeping the series in the modern era. Although the hacker released the clips in September 2022, it’s unlikely that “GTA 6” will be out any time soon, as the series has historically taken many years to reach stores after beginning production.
