Given Count's Kustoms fame, some might assume that Danny Koker has had extensive mechanic training and schooling. However, he revealed that isn't the case.
Koker told American Profile that he only had basic high school training, and added that most of what he knows comes from taking things apart and learning how to reassemble them.
He spoke about his relationship with his father on "Counting Cars," and how his interest in the field came from the two working on cars during his childhood.
In a 2013 interview with the American Profile, Koker shared how he almost bought a 1972 Lamborghini Miura SV, but the deal fell through at the last minute.
Koker revealed more in 2019 on his Count's Kustoms Network YouTube channel, sharing that the owner got sentimental just before they could finalize the deal and stopped the sale.
On his YouTube channel, Koker was asked, "If you could pick one place in the world that has the best cars to restore where would it be?" The answer was easy for him.
Koker said, "Right here in the great US of A," adding that he is a "big, flag-waving, patriotic guy so I love American iron" and thinks "American iron I think is a number one."
Although Koker is experienced in restoration and customization, he shared the one car he couldn't restore: a mid-60s Ford Ranchero he got at an auction.
The car was in too poor a condition, with Koker calling it "a bag of garbage." Koker transformed it into a Ford Ranchero pool table that's still used in a Las Vegas hotel.
