Android TV 13 Will Make Smart TVs More Efficient
By EWDISON THEN
Since Android was created primarily for smartphones, and that remains its core focus to this day, Google has fallen behind on the development of the OS for big screens. However, this might change with Android TV 13, rumored to be announced this November.
Android TV 13 will be smarter when it comes to power and bandwidth consumption, according to Esper. Not only will the power efficiency help users save money on their electricity bills, but a low-power standby mode will also prevent apps from using internet bandwidth.
Perhaps a more interesting new Android TV feature is an enhancement for its existing picture-in-picture (PiP) mode. Android 13 is getting a docking feature that would let a "big overlay" like PiP be put side-by-side with the main activity so that both windows will be fully visible to the user.
