5 Ways You Can Use Google's Gemini AI In Everyday Life
By MAX MILLER
Phone Assistant
The Gemini AI Android app can replace Google Assistant as your phone’s smart assistant, giving you new features at the cost of some Assistant functionality.
While it won’t be able to do basic assistant tasks like sending texts, Gemini can summarize your most important emails and provide a bullet-pointed list.
Information
One issue with AI is “hallucinations” — when AI makes things up. However, Gemini seems to have greater informational accuracy compared to other models.
Gemini is a suitable search engine only for basic information. When testing the AI, it correctly responded with factual information, but eventually slipped up.
Identifying
One helpful thing Gemini can do is identify objects in photos with remarkable accuracy, such as a pair of desk speakers with no visible text or branding on the unit.
To make the feature work, launch the Gemini app, tap the photo button, snap a shot, type a query to accompany the picture, and press the send button.
Emails
Since Google Gemini can access your other Google products, it can read and search through your Gmail account emails. You can also ask it questions about your mail.
In addition to Gmail, Gemini can access your Google Workspace, including Google Drive and Google Docs, meaning it can also search through your documents.
Generate Images
Gemini is a multimodal AI, meaning it has smaller models packaged into it for specialized tasks. One such task is a text-to-image function that can create AI images.
You enter what you’d like to see, such as a cartoon dog eating spaghetti, and Gemini will return some interpretations of your prompt in just a few moments.
