By SHIKHAR MEHROTRA
Within a few days, we will witness Apple's September 2022 launch event, during which the company is expected to reveal new iPhones and the next generation of its operating system: iOS 16. Fans can expect the tech giant to include many bells and whistles on the latest operating system, but are users aware of the features currently hiding on their device?
SlashGear conducted a survey among Apple fans to determine what they knew about the hidden features on their iPhones. Surprisingly, 30.24% of participants were unaware of a helpful feature called Handoff, which allows users to quickly switch from one Apple device to another. On an iPhone or iPad, users can open Settings, General, AirPlay & Handoff, and enable it.
Of the 592 respondents, 9.80% did not know they could disable app notifications through the Settings menu, and 19.09% were not aware that they could add extensions to the Safari web browser on their iPhones. To add, simply open Safari Settings, tap Extensions, and select More Extensions to browse through those available.
A lesser-known feature that 15.20% of iPhone users were unaware of is notification summary, which allows users to create a summary of their phone notifications and see them at a set time. One last hidden feature that 25.68% of participants weren’t using is App Limits, which lets users set time limits for their apps and is located in the Screen Time section of the Settings app.
