11 Essential Apps Every PS5 Owner Needs To Download
By AARON GREENBAUM
Spotify
Whether you want to listen to your personal playlist or catch up on a podcast during a gaming session, downloading the Spotify app is a must.
You can download and access Spotify from PS5’s Media section. The basic account is free, but you’ll need a paid premium account to listen to your music without ads.
Twitch
The Twitch app on the PS5 makes it easier to watch your favorite game streamers or show off your gaming skills for others to see by streaming your gameplay.
Twitch can be accessed and downloaded in the PS5’s Media section. You will need the PS5 HD Camera if you want anyone to see your face while you stream.
Netflix
The popular streaming service Netflix offers its users a wide range of classic, newer, and original content on virtually all internet-enabled platforms, including the PS5.
You can install and access Netflix in the Media section, then log in to your account. However, the PS5 uses more watts per hour for streaming than other devices, like Roku.
Tubi
Unlike more well-known streaming platforms, Tubi is 100% free. Surprisingly, the free streaming service’s title selection rivals the other platforms.
Tubi can be found, installed, and accessed in the Media tab of your PS5’s home screen, though you will need to create a free account before you can use the streaming service.
Crunchyroll
Other streaming services may have anime on their platforms, but Crunchyroll offers the largest collection. Users have access to both classic and new titles.
You can install the Crunchyroll app and access it in the PS5’s Media tab. Although there are many free titles, some require a premium subscription to view.
