Star Wars Rogue One trailer Beastie Boys "Sabotage" remix is the bomb

This week someone remixed the latest trailer for Star Wars Rogue One to include the Beastie Boys single "Sabotage." This is significant for several reasons. One – there's a Star Trek trailer that's come out in the last year that uses the same song – the song which was also a part of the first Star Trek movie series era we're living in now. This trailer puts the song to some very good use, the editor making not only the action match the song, but some Star Wars sound effects match up as well.

Here's where I would re-raise the question of whether or not the Beastie Boys are actually approving of this use of their music in what's essentially an advertisement – but it's unofficial, so no worries. Have a peek at our most recent analysis of the use of a Beastie Boys song (this same song) in a trailer for Star Trek.

Next you'll see the trailer for this new Star Wars movie Rogue One. This trailer is very similar to – though not exactly like, for obvious editing reasons – the other most recent trailer for the film that's been released this month.

Have a peek at this trailer and let us know what you think. This is right along the lines of the Guardians of the Galaxy-style Star Wars trailer you're about to see.

Don't let Lando charm you into his city – he's known to do that.

Let us know if you've got any other examples of music being re-fit to a trailer of a film – or a trailer being made with the music in mind – that you love. We'd love to count down the greatest – we need your help to do it!
