Star Wars 1313 may have EA hiring again

Battlefront has been out for a little while now, and while it's got the shooter aspects of Star Wars, it lacks any real substance. For me, Star Wars is far less about blasters and lightsabers, and more about the story. Thankfully, it would seem that there is a Star Wars RPG in the works, to satisfy people like me.

According to a job posting for EA's Visceral studios they're looking to hire a Senior Game Designer for a game set in the Star Wars universe. If you look over the job description, it's got all of the makings of an action RPG. Take a look at the relevant part of the job description and see for yourself:

BRING YOUR SYSTEM GAME DESIGN SKILLS AND SAVVY AND YOUR LOVE OF STAR WARS TO VISCERAL GAMES, EMBRACING AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROJECT VISION IN AREAS OF HERO CONTROL/MECHANICS, AI BEHAVIORS, COMBAT/WEAPONS, CLASS DESIGN, SKILLS/PROGRESSION, ENEMY DESIGN, STORY AND BOSS ENCOUNTERS.

There is little other useful information that can be gleaned from from the post. There is one game that comes to mind when hearing this. One is the canceled Star Wars 1313. If you recall, this gritty Star Wars title was set to explore the underbelly of Coruscant, the capital city of the Empire/Republic. It was canceled when Disney took over the franchise.

We've dug into why we think the game will still see the light of day before. And now that seems more likely than ever. Of course, we can always hope that it could turn out to be KOTOR 3, but The Old Republic MMO pretty much squashed any of those dreams.
