Sprint reveals CTL Chromebook NL7 LTE for students and business

Sprint has teamed with CTL to launch the new CTL Chromebook NL7 LTE with support for the carrier's mobile network. The new model works with Google's G Suite for Education, offering on-the-go Internet access even in the absence of a WiFi network. Customers can get the Chromebook under a monthly device payment arrangement.

The CTL Chromebook NL7 with Sprint features an 11.6-inch LCD display alongside an unspecified "Intel processor," 4GB of RAM, and up to 32GB of internal storage. Assuming LTE is not used, this Chromebook model gets up to 12 hours of runtime per charge, though that decreases when the mobile connection is on.

The new CTL Chromebook has a pair of USB 3.0 ports and another pair of USB-C ports, enabling users to connect flash drives and other USB devices. There's 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.2, an audio jack, and a microSD card slot for additional storage capacity.

Sprint presents the Chromebook NL7 as an option for students and businesses that need a lightweight, portable notebook with mobile Internet access. The model can be used to access online lessons, email, and files, as well as Google's services like Drive and Gmail.

The carrier is offering the new Chromebook at $15/month with unlimited LTE data. A look at the fine print shows video streams over mobile restricted at up to 480+ resolutions, music at up to 500kbps, cloud gaming at up to 2Mbps, and high-speed mobile hotspot VPN/P2P use capped at 10GB/month.
