SPRiiiNG Smartphone packs Android and heads to Thailand this month

A new smartphone is headed to Thailand later this month that runs Android 2.1. The device is called the SPRiiiNG Smartphone and it has a smallish 2.6-inch 320 x 240 resolution screen that is resistive touch. The smartphone measures 96.4mm x 62.2mm x 12mm and weighs 110g. The processor inside the smartphone is a Qualcomm MSM7225 running at 528MHz.

The device has 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM with user storage that can be expanded via a microSD card up to 16GB. The battery inside the device is a 930mAh unit promising 290 hours on standby and 180 minutes of talk per charge.

The camera on the back of the phone is a 3MP unit with LED flash and the phone has an FM tuner and supports several digital audio and video formats. Onboard sensors include a light sensor, a digital compass, and an accelerometer. Other features include GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi router function, and several SPRiiiNG apps. The device operates on HSPA/WCDMA networks along with GSM networks.
