Spotify packs in new features for Premium user draw

The newest update to Spotify has a few more features added to the subscription tier for users that pay. Users of Spotify Premium will find a few features modified from past versions of the service, as well, and some features will come to some platforms before others. UPDATE: Initial updates to Spotify Premium will begin to roll out to Premium subscribers on both iOS and Android at the same time – welcome to 2018!

In a jab which might be directed at Pandora (remember Pandora?), Spotify will add Endless Artist `radio. This is a system in which users are able to find their favorite artist and tap in on Artist Radio playlists. Users can listen to these lists at random and/or download and listen to these lists offline.

There's a new search system in the mix in this month's update. This is what Spotify calls "Personalized Search," and it includes a whole lot of buttons. "Our redesigned Search page is the new one-stop destination for artists, albums, podcasts, and more—whether the subscriber knows what they're searching for or wants to explore something new," said a Spotify representative. "At the top of the screen, listeners can find their Top Genres—from indie to country to reggae—and easily discover the music that best reflects them and their mood."

A bit of a user interface mod's been made this week in the form of three tabs: Home, Search, and Your Library. Home has recommendations, Your Library has all the music and podcasts you've saved in the past, and Search – as redefined above – allows the user to explore the wide, wide world of Spotify media in all its forms.

This update will be released to the Google Play app store and the App Store for iOS devices immediately if not soon. You should see the update by the end of today, if not tomorrow. If it's not out for you tomorrow, maybe just wait longer? I don't know, I'm not your dad.
