Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact get US date, pricing

Since its announcement last year, many have wondered when, or even if, Sony would be bringing their Xperia Z5 line to the US. But as the old saying goes, "good things come to those who wait." Today Sony has announced availability for their flagship phones in the US, and it turns out we won't have to wait too much longer.

Currently, the Xperia Z5 is sitting at the top of the DxOMark charts, meaning it has the best camera that you're going to find in a smartphone, currently (well, it's actually tied for first with the Galaxy S6 Edge+). So when will you be able to put one of these in your hands? Sony announced today that both the Xperia Z5 and Z5 Compact will be releasing in the US on February 7.

The Z5 will be launched with a price of $599, while the Compact variety will fetch a price of $499. The phones will both be unlocked, and support GSM carriers, such as AT&T and T-Mobile. You'll be able to find them on sale on Amazon, Best Buy, and other retailers when they arrive next month.
