Sony h.ear Series scores new wireless headphones and speakers

In addition to its new Extra Bass products, Sony has added a variety of audio devices to its h.ear Series, an audio lineup including speakers and headphones. This time around, Sony has added three new models, the h.ear on Wireless NC headphones, h.ear in wireless earbuds, and the oddly named h.ear.go wireless speakers, all three of which boast bright, colorful designs. Sony will be launching the new items this upcoming Spring.

At its CES 2016 keynote today, Sony took the wraps off the h.ear on Wireless NC headphones (over ear), the h.ear in Wireless headphones (earbuds), and the h.ear go wireless speakers. Says the company, it designed its h.ear series to offer stylish, high-quality audio devices for consumers. The products in the series include Sony's LDAC audio coding technology similar to Hi-Res Audio.

As far as headphones goes, consumers have two new options: h.ear earbuds or over-ear headphones, two products similar in nature but with obvious differences. The h.ear on headphones in particular isolate the music from ambient noise thanks in part to Digital Noise Cancelling software and dual noise sensor tech. Most notably, the headphones feature Automatic AI Noise Cancelling, 40mm HD drivers, and DSEE tech for natural sounds.

Those who prefer earbuds have the h.ear in option, a pair of wireless in-ear headphones with 9mm drivers and Beat Response Control. There's an integrated microphone for taking calls and HD Voice support.

Then there are the h.ear.go speakers, a line that is Hi-Res compatible and highly portable with a 12 hour run time. The model features φ35mm gauge full-range speaker units alongside DSP signal processing for what Sony promises is a heavy bass response. As well, the speakers support Spotify Connect, Google Cast, and Sony SongPal. Multiple speakers can be used simultaneously.

Prices haven't been announced.
