Sony Ericsson turned down Google' s request to make Nexus One

Apparently Sony Ericsson's CEO Bert Norberg has revealed to a Swedish publication that Google had initially courted Sony Ericsson to build the powerhouse smartphone, the Nexus One.  And allegedly Sony Ericsson turned down the request, starting that they were only dedicated to build and develop their own in-house hardware.

So what does Sony Ericsson actually have to show?  Its own Android-powered smartphone, the Xperia X10 isn't widely available for purchase, with a major release date set for months away.   Smart move in this economy?  What would a Sony Ericsson-made Google phone have looked like?
