Sony Ericsson neo V detailed along with Android 2.3.4 update for entire 2011 range

Sony Ericsson has made a couple important announcements today. The first of the announcements is the unveiling of a new smartphone that will be coming in Q4 of 2011 to select markets. What those select markets are isn't known. The smartphone is called the Xperia neo V and it has some nice features like Android 2.3.4 out of the box and a 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8255 processor. The rear camera of the device is 5MP with autofocus, 720p recording and more.

The camera will also have a 3D sweep panorama feature and will have 16x digital zoom and geotagging along with lots more automated features. A front facing camera for video chats is integrated and the phone has HDMI output too. The screen is a 3.7-inch TFT Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine. Sony Ericsson's other announcement is that the Android 2.3.4 update will be coming to its entire 2011 smartphone range.

The update is set to land in October for certain markets. The update will add the 3D sweep panorama mode, Facebook Inside Xperia V2 with discover and share apps capability via Facebook, live FM music, and a new from friends gallery. Also added is Swipe text input and screenshot capture capability among other things. The use of USB peripherals by connecting to the Sony Ericsson LiveDock is also supported with the update.
