SNES Classic Edition in stock at Amazon next week

If you haven't had any luck in finding an SNES Classic Edition, then here's a bit of good news: Amazon has announced that it will restock the popular mini console next week. There are already plenty of people selling SNES Classics through Amazon – in fact, at the time of this writing, there are more than 700 available – but if you want to get one that's new in box, you're looking at paying at least $100. That, of course, is a decent amount more expensive than the SNES Classic's list price.Amazon's restock will be an opportunity to pick up the SNES Classic at its MSRP of $79.99. The restock is happening on May 26, so if you want one, be sure to be ready to order then. There's no telling how long Amazon's stock will last, so it might not be a bad idea to set up 1-click checkout ahead of time. The mini console has been difficult to find from time to time, but thankfully, stock issues haven't been as bad as they were with the NES Classic. While many sellers are only charging a $20 premium on the SNES Classic over on Amazon at the moment, that's a far cry from how much resellers were charging for the NES Classic.

Speaking of the NES Classic, Nintendo recently announced that it will begin selling those again at the end of June. That should do something to help the ridiculous premiums resellers have been charging, but it's clear that Nintendo is going to have to make a lot to satisfy demand. The company says that it'll keep producing the NES Classic through the end of the year, so that's definitely nice to hear.

So far, Nintendo hasn't talked about when it might end SNES Classic production. It's probably trying to avoid that particular conversation, especially considering the anger it created in discontinuing the NES Classic. If you're going to try to snag an SNES Classic from Amazon next week, good luck!
