Snapdragon Eee PC runs Android in video demo [Updated]

First the photos, now the video: Qualcomm's Snapdragon Eee PC has made its first video appearance, courtesy of jkkmobile at Computex 2009.  Even better, the Eee PC – which uses the 1GHz Snapdragon processor, as in the Toshiba TG01 – is running Android rather than Windows, and despite the low-power chip is capable of 720p playback.Video hands-on after the cut

The newer 1.3GHz chipset and existing 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon chipset should be happy with 1080p video, though whether they'll be fanless like this 1GHz prototype remains to be seen.  What Qualcomm say they'll all have in common is oodles of connectivity – WiFi, Bluetooth and various guises of CDMA and UMTS WWAN are supported – and long battery life.

TweakTown also spotted the Android prototype – which they say ran smoothly, but was a little plain – and shot a video demo, which you can see below.  We're expecting further footage later on as more netbook bloggers process their video.  No word on whether Android will be among the OSes offered by production Smartbooks once they start to hit the market by the end of the year.
