Sling TV adds nine new Discovery networks and more sports

Livestreaming television service Sling TV has added another nine Discovery channels, the company has announced, as well as new sports offerings. The additions join Sling's existing channel lineup, which is split into two different packages with premium add-on offerings as extra options. The new additions have been applied to the service's base options, as well as its Extra offerings, and its Spanish language services.

Sling TV customers who have the News Extras offering now get Science Channel, a channel that covers all things science. Heartland Extra, meanwhile, now offers Destination America, a network that covers a variety of categories throughout the US, including the show Ghost Brothers.

Heartland Extra also now offers American Heroes Channel, a network that covers military history, events, and people, including features like World War II: Witness to War. Both Heartland Extra and News Extras are available to Sling Orange and Sling Blue customers for an extra $5 per month.

Sling Blue, which is the company's $25/month plan, now offers access to Discovery Channel, the same network offered on cable and satellite. This channel brings shows like Gold Rush and Alaska: The Last Frontier. Sling Blue customers also now have access to TLC.

Sling Orange, which is priced at $40/month, now include MotorTrend, which was formerly called Velocity, and Investigation Discovery (ID), the network that covers crime, investigations, and offers documentaries. As far as Spanish language television goes, Sling has added beIN Sports Connect LaLiga TV / Channels 4-8, Discovery Familia, and Discovery en Espanol.
