Sidekick To Get Streamlined MySpace App
If you're driving yourself crazy counting down the hours until T-Mobile release the next-gen Sidekicks, then maybe you could do with the almighty distraction (and hunting ground for emo kids, new bands and any sexual predators that have managed to escape the regular security sweeps) of MySpace. Now that Helio no longer have the exclusive contract for the ridiculously popular social networking site on mobile handsets, apps have been springing up all over; T-Mobile may have taken a little longer than some rivals, but their implementation looks to be a good one.
A free download from the Sidekick iD catalogue, and supposedly pre-loaded on the upcoming Slide and LX models, the application uses tabs to delineate different sections of functionality and has been nicely integrated with existing Sidekick features. For instance, once you've logged in your MySpace email is automatically pushed to your Sidekick address, and Danger have used some method of content optimisation to cut down on loading times.
Photos taken using the Sidekick's camera can be instantly uploaded to your profile gallery, so expect to see a lot more angsty teens photoblogging their miserable adolescence. Apparently MySpace is the number one accessed site on the Sidekick, so expect heavy take-up of the new app.
