Sanyo unveils blinding PLC-XF1000 projector with 12k lumens

Sanyo has pulled the wraps off several new projectors over the last few months, but the most feature packed and expensive projector of them all has now been unveiled. Sanyo has announced the new and massively bright PLC-FX1000 projector aimed at bright rooms and large venues.

The big feature of the projector is its whopping 12,000 lumen light output. To get such a huge amount of lumens the projector uses two lamps. Sanyo claims that the 12,000-lumen number makes the XF1000 the brightest projector in the industry for 100V AC units.

Other features include a 4000:1 contrast ratio and Sanyo's exclusive QuaDrive optical engine. The QuaDrive engine adds a yellow light control device to the mix of red, green, and blue in the typical 3LCD set up. Inputs include DVI-D, RGB, component and composite as well as S-Video. The projector will ship in December for $24,995.
