Samsung NX3000 SMART Camera slots 20.3MP into retro body

Samsung has outed its latest mirrorless camera, the NX3000 SMART Camera, packing a 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, WiFi, and NFC into a retro-styled body. The compact NX3000 also supports Samsung's Wink Shot feature, which effectively replaces the self-timer with wink recognition.

Framing the perfect selfie is made easier with a pop-up display, a 3-inch rotating 320 x 480 panel that can be seen from the back and the front of the camera.

ISO 100-25600 is supported, and the NX3000 can also shoot 1080p video. Maximum shutter speed is 1/4000s, and there's 5fps continuous shooting.

Connectivity includes a microSDXC card slot, HDMI, WiFi b/g/n, and NFC. The latter two can be used to instantly pair the NX3000 with a nearby Samsung smartphone, after which point it can be remotely controlled using the company's Remote View Finder Pro app, or photos shared with the Mobile Link app.

There's also a new compact 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 Power Zoom ED OIS lens, the zooming of which can also be controlled remotely through the smartphone app. The NX3000's flash is a detachable unit.

Samsung will be offering the NX3000 in black, white, or brown.

The Samsung NX3000 SMART Camera will go on sale from mid-June. It'll be priced at $479 for the camera, a 20-50mm lens, and the SEF-8 flash, or at $529 when bundled with a 16-50mm OIS Power Zoom and the flash.
