Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 To Get New TouchWiz UX On August 3, But NYC Only

Samsung is hosting an unusual press event in NYC on August 3. And we say unusual, because it's not common to see events like these in celebration of a software update. But this one is to unveil a major update to Samsung's TouchWiz UX for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. The event will be held at the Samsung Experience center in NYC, where it will open to the press in the morning and then to the general public in the afternoon.

This update is expected to bring a fully customizable TouchWiz UX, Live Panel, Mini-Apps, and a redesigned interface for the Samsung Media Hub. It will also include preloaded Amazon Cloud Player, Amazon's Kindle and Words with Friends apps, as well as various enterprise offerings.

Doors open to the public starting at 1pm. So, if you own the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and live in the NYC area, mark your calendars. Not only will you get to demo the new interface at the event, but you'll also get to sideload the update while you're there. So make sure to backup everything ahead of time.
