Samsung Galaxy NX arrives in the UK ready to ship

It's been a couple of months since we got to play around with Samsung's latest Android-powered camera, the Galaxy NX, but consumers over in the UK can now grab the camera from a couple of retailers that have it on sale. Jessops, Currys, and Wex are selling the Galaxy NX for a staggering £1,299.

That might be a hard pill to swallow, but the NX certainly comes with more features and a better sensor than the Galaxy Camera, and it acts more like a DSLR this time around, pitting it against offerings from the likes of Canon and Nikon. Of course, we'd have to take the NX for a real spin to find out whether or not the price tag is accurate, so stay tuned for that.

The Galaxy NX is the first-ever Android-powered interchangeable lens camera, and it comes with an impressive 20.3-megapixel APS-C sensor and an 18-55mm kit lens to get you started on your photo journey, but you'll be able to put on other lenses to get that perfect shot based on the type of glass you need. The camera also comes with 4G LTE, WiFi, and 16GB of internal storage.

There's a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM powering the operation on the inside, with the capability of shooting 8.6 frames per second, with a fast shutter speed of 1/6000. It certainly seems like a decent camera for all the hobbyists out there, but it'll be interesting to see how it caters towards the professional crowd. £1,299 seems like a high price tag, but the benefit of Android on board could entice some photography enthusiasts.
