Samsung has revealed another new Android smartphone, the Galaxy Ace DUO, and though it may not match the Galaxy S III on specs, it does have one minor advantage. Packing dual SIM slots, the Ace DUO can receive calls from either number simultaneously, rather than demanding the user switch between them manually.

Up front is a 3.5-inch HVGA LCD touchscreen, while inside there's an 823MHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 3GB of user memory. A microSD card slot is also present, compatible with up to 32GB cards, along with WiFi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and a microUSB port. No LTE, unsurprisingly, with 900/2100 HSDPA instead.

On the back is a 5-megapixel camera – there's no front-facing camera – and Samsung preloads the Android 2.3 Gingerbread phone with its own TouchWiz interface along with ChatON and the Samsung Social Hub app for Facebook and Twitter. The whole thing measures in at 112.74 x 61.5 x 11.5 mm and weighs 122g, and has a 1,300 mAh battery good, Samsung predicts, for 390 minutes of 3G talktime or 410 hours of 3G standby.

Samsung is – like Nokia before it – suggesting the dual-SIM smartphone is ideal for those wanting to juggle either business and personal calls, or take advantage of two tariffs with different pricing. No word on how much the Galaxy Ace DUO itself will cost, but it'll start to hit shelves from June in Russia, then roll out to Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, Middle East, Africa, and China.
