Samsung bringing Galaxy wares to illycaffe shops via new partnership

Samsung and illycaffe have announced a new "multiyear" partnership that, according to the Korean company, enhances the experience for shoppers at the retailer's various so-called flagship stores. The details on what exactly the partnership brings is a bit on the light side, but it seems Galaxy tablets and related devices will be coming to the coffee shop's stores, as well as what is being referred to as "Samsung Angels".

Who doesn't like a cup of coffee while using their tablet? Or perhaps vice versa. Such seems to be the notion behind Samsung's latest partnership with the retailer, which promises to pool the two companies' respective resources together — Samsung's foundation in technology and illycaffe's foundation in coffee and artistic projects, apparently.

The fruits of the partnership are coming first to illycaffe's store on Regent Street in London, with more stores opening throughout this year, including at Samsung stores, all of which will be labelled as "digitized by Samsung". The Samsung Angels will be deployed to help interested parties in customer service matters for "the best in-store experience possible."

Said Samsung's Younghee Lee: "At Samsung, our goal is to help people live richer, simpler and more meaningful lives. We seek innovators like illy, who share our commitment to enhancing people's daily lives, to be our partners. Together, we look forward to taking this collaboration to the next level in the near future by opening it up to new areas and additional shared projects and to driving creativity, innovation and passion over a great cup of coffee."
