RIM and MySpace announce record download numbers

Research In Motion (RIM), along with MySpace have announced record download numbers of the MySpace for BlackBerry smartphones application, for the first week it was released. Since the release of the MySpace application for Blackberry on November 13th, there have been more than 400,000 downloads.

These numbers have marked a record for an all-time high for both RIM and MySpace in terms of first week downloads. With the MySpace application for Blackberry alone users have sent more than 15 million messages and updated their status over two million times. We can't help but feel the numbers would not have been so high if the MySpace application had been released any sooner.
