Red Dead Redemption 2 PC gets a fancy 4K trailer

After a ton of speculation and rumors claiming as much, earlier this month Rockstar confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 will at last be coming to PC. This marks a first for the Red Dead franchise, and of course, a jump to PC means that Rockstar is making a number of improvements to the way the game looks. The developer has already covered the enhancements it's making in previous announcements, but today, it showed us some of them in a new trailer.

Not just any trailer either, but a 4K trailer that runs at 60 frames per second. The trailer is only a minute long, but despite that short running time, we're still given a look at a variety of environments. From forests and desert valleys to plains and old west towns, the trailer certainly sets a high expectation for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC.

Obviously, to achieve a look similar to what we see in the trailer, you're going to need a pretty beefy machine. PC gaming enthusiasts probably already have that on lock, but thankfully for the rest of us, you don't need a costly PC to play Red Dead Redemption 2. Last week, Rockstar revealed the minimum and recommended PC specifications for Red Dead Redemption 2, and it looks like this game is going to run on a wide variety of configurations.

To hear Rockstar explain it, that's by design. "Red Dead Redemption 2 has been specifically developed to perform on a wide range of machines," the company wrote at the time, publishing a minimum spec list that includes mid-range hardware like the Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB and the Intel Core i5-2500K. Regardless of the machine you've got on hand, you'll need to make sure that you have 150GB of free HDD space to install the game, so for a few people, that might unironically end up being the bottleneck.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PC is currently up for pre-order through the Rockstar Games Launcher. Pre-orders will go live on other platforms such as the Epic Games Store and the Humble Store on October 23rd, with release date scheduled for November 5th. While we will see the game launch on Steam, that won't happen until December, so those of you who want to buy through Valve's platform will have to wait a bit longer than everyone else.
