PS4's Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection confirmed for October release

Only a few hours after gamers caught wind of the announcement via a PlayStation Store slip-up, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection has been confirmed and is scheduled for release on October 9th. The PlayStation 4 game will be a remastered collection of the first three titles in the series that were released on the PS3, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. The announcement also included a trailer for the action-adventure trilogy, which you can check out below.

Developed by Naughty Dog, the Uncharted series was one of the most popular on PS3, both critically and among fans, and collectively the three original games sold over 21 million copies. Porting the Uncharted games to PS4 doesn't come as a surprise, as the same was also done for Naughty Dog's other hit release, The Last of Us.

The Nathan Drake Collection aims to serve as new players' introduction to the titular hero before the release of Uncharted 4 sometime in 2016. Collection will include the full single-player campaigns from Uncharted 1-3, remastered in 1080p and 60fps. Along with a new photo mode, the games will also have improved lighting, textures, and models.

Those who purchase the new PS4 release will get exclusive access to a forthcoming multiplayer beta for Uncharted 4, although the date of release for the beta hasn't been announced yet. Pre-order bonuses will include character skins, bonus weapons, and a dynamic console theme with the digital download version.
