PS Plus October 2018 free games bring Jason Voorhees for Halloween

Sony has taken the wraps off its PlayStation Plus free games lineup for October 2018. The upcoming titles will be free for PS Plus subscribers to download throughout next month, giving PS3 and PS4 console owners the chance to play something new without spending any money. As expected, there's also a couple titles available for the PS Vita.

To match the holiday spirit, Sony is offering Friday the 13th: The Game as its major PlayStation 4 download, enabling players to take on the role of either a teenager or Jason Voorhees himself. Anyone familiar with the movies will know what to expect in this game — you're either killing or trying not to be killed.

Players get to choose how they will survive the game; they can hide or they can team up with other players to fight the menace or escape from him together. Joining that game will also be Laser League for PS4 owners. This multiplayer title is described as a "futuristic sport" from Roll7, and it involves tasking players with moving lasers in an arena while beating their opponents.

Meanwhile, PlayStation 3 owners will have access to Master Reboot and The Bridge. The first of the two ordinarily costs $7 and is a PSN game where souls are immortal thanks to the Soul Cloud. The maker describes this title as a "first person sci-fi adventure game" that is set within this Soul Cloud.

The Bridge is a 2D logic puzzle game that ordinarily costs $10. In this, players must work their way through four dozen unique puzzles, each involving things like parallel dimensions, gravity manipulation, gravitational vortexes, and more. Those who download can also get this title for the PS4 and Vita.

Lastly, PS Vita owners can download 2064 Read Only Memories and Rocketbirds 2: Evolution. Both titles include a cross-buy with the PlayStation 4.
