Porsche Panamera GTS and Panamera GTS Sport Turismo offer 460hp turbo V8

Porsche has announced a pair of new models that slot into the Panamera line and offer improved performance. The models are the Panamera GTS and the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo. Both models share the same 4.0L V8 biturbo engine making 460hp and 620Nm of torque.

Porsche says that fuel economy ratings are 10.3l/100km fuel consumption for the Panamera GTS and 10.6l/100km for the GTS Sport Turismo in Europe. Emission output is rated at 242g/km. The twin-turbo V8 engines have 20hp more than their predecessors and an extra 100Nm of torque. Porsche says that both models can hit 100km/h in 4.1 seconds with the standard Sport Chrono package.

Top speed for the Panamera GTS is 292km/h and the Panamera GTS Sport Turismo can reach 289 km/h. Both cars have the Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system and use an 8-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox. GTS models get adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology standard.

Porsche says that suspension feature gives "flexible control and optimum spring rate spread." That boils down to improved handling. GTS models are 10mm lower than normal Panamera models and have special Porsche Active Suspension Management with a sportier calibration.

GTS models get larger brakes at 390mm diameter rotors in front and 365mm in the rear. GTS models also get a standard Sport Design package with black front and bottom rear trim. An optional Interior GTS package is offered giving options for customization with the rev counter, designer seams, and GTS logos on the seats. These cars also get a heads-up display with configuration options, a first for the Panamera. Pricing and availability are unannounced.
