Pokemon GO update fixes your Pidgey problem
Encountering an endless sea of Pidgey and Rattata has long been a frustration of Pokemon GO players, but that's all set to change. Niantic has detailed a new update that will significantly decrease the number of super common Pokemon like Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat in the wild. This, as you may have already guessed, paves the way for more uncommon ones to spawn.
Just as well, Niantic is saying that Pidgey and Rattata will no longer hatch from eggs. While those two would only hatch from two-kilometer eggs, having one of those Pokemon appear could quickly drain the excitement out of watching your eggs crack open. With Pidgey and Rattata being taken out of the pool of potential egg Pokemon, players should have an easier time getting rarer ones like Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur.
There's another fairly significant change currently rolling out as well. Niantic has moved Eevee from the 10-kilometer egg group to the 5-kilometer egg group. Not only does this stop the sting of getting a somewhat common Pokemon from the highest egg tier, but it'll also make Eevee – a fairly sought after Pokemon thanks to its evolutions – easier to get overall.
A lot of these changes seem to be for the better, as switching up the spawn points might do something to keep players interested after the Halloween event wrapped up earlier in the week. Of course, one drawback is that players may have a harder time collecting common Pokemon for Lucky Egg-fueled evolution marathons.
Pokemon GO updates seem to be flying in at a much faster rate these days. With the Halloween update in the books, it's time to start looking forward to the next seasonal event. There's reason to believe that it'll be centered around Thanksgiving, so stay tuned for more information on that.
