Pokemon GO Gen 3 Weather brings these 4 big bonuses

In Pokemon GO today we're having a peek at the first big elemental changes in the game made for Gen 3! Gen 3 Pokemon have come out in a small pack in the game so far – but with this update, they're about to blast out in droves. Today's set of factoids about the impending update to Pokemon GO includes live weather conditions, conditions that'll have a real effect on the game and its Gen 3 contents!

Pokemon GO was announced to have one update this month so far. We know that by the end of this month we'll have seen another. The first update will include live weather conditions and a handful of Gen 3 monsters.

Hoenn Pokemon will appear in the next few days in the game all around the world. At the same time, "dynamic weather patterns" will allow each different Pokemon to appear at different times. Of the 135 Gen 3 Pokemon from Hoenn, only 50 will appear over the weekend. To find these Pokemon, watch your local weather forecast!

• Clear Weather : Grass, Ground & Fire-types

• Rain: Water, Electric and Bug-types

• Snow: Ice & Steel-types

• Windy: Dragon, Flying & Psychic-types

• Foggy: Dark & Ghost-types

Each weather conditions corresponding Pokemon types appear more frequently during said weather. Each Pokemon in each of these categories also "get stronger" during these weather conditions. That means their CP will be ramped up from the start! There'll be more stardust as a reward, too!

• More frequent spawns

• Higher CP than normal in the wild

• Bonus stardust as a reward for capture

• Possibility of alternate moves!

The folks at Serebii have emulated the weather conditions and a capture of a Mudkip for us all to see early. Note that the animation here may change between now and the final release this week.

Pokemon already caught at the time the weather event is occurring will have damage increases for both quick and charged moves. Head over to a gym on a clear weather day and release your Charizard for the most damaging attacks this monster's ever executed!

In addition, Pokemon may "remember" new moves during certain weather conditions. This feature will very likely remain within the bounds of the moves each individual Pokemon is capable of getting in the first place – but we'll see!
